Bernardo Heights Parkway Medians

The Community Association of Bernardo Heights hired VDLA in 2015 to assess existing conditions of plant material in the community’s medians and provide schematic designs to replace the turf with low water plants in order to conserve water.

Working with the Association Board of Directors, Property Manager and current landscape maintenance contractor, VDLA provided a visual assessment of existing landscape and irrigation conditions, developed a new plant palette with schematic designs for planting and irrigation and standard details for implementing the designs. Design approach included retention of mature trees and consideration of sight restricted areas.

Scope also included a presentation to the community and graphic display boards.
