Felicita County Park Area ‘a’ Improvements

VDLA, as prime consultant to the County of San Diego, provided landscape architectural design and construction documents for a 2-acre, unimproved section of Felicita County Park. The park has a natural theme, and is adjacent to existing mature oak trees and a natural creek. Native plantings were used throughout all non-turf areas. The site improvements include play areas, a shade pavilion and stage, picnic areas, and a nature trail. Interpretive signage was developed for water quality best management practices, the archeological heritage of the site, and the local context. Paving patterns throughout the area were derived from local Native American basket weaving patterns.
