ViaSat

VDLA designed all landscape architectural features for the ViaSat Café and Courtyard improvements in Carlsbad, CA, including a herb garden feature developed for use by culinary staff. The central focal point of the space is an outdoor dining patio shaded by a sail cloth and a specimen Sycamore tree. The patio features a BBQ, two fire pit features, built-in seating and a bar height counter. Artificial turf provides a bright green yet water-wise flex space that can accommodate lawn games and seating for all-hands meetings. Situated throughout the landscape are “mini-garden rooms” with a variety of outdoor furnishings. Two competition level volleyball courts and a basketball court are located behind the café building, offering active recreation.
