Highgrove Apartments

VDLA was commissioned by WHA Architects to design conceptual landscape and hardscape treatments, entry monuments, a community center, pool area, parks and play areas including a tot lot, walls and fencing, street trees, parking locations, and treatments for the Highgrove Apartments. The complex is situated on a 5.5 acre site with 81 units. VDLA worked closely with the architect and civil engineer to layout pedestrian circulation and review conceptual grading and drainage issues. The landscape favors “California-friendly” drought adaptive plantings and features a smart controller irrigation system that adjusts daily to local weather conditions. VDLA was involved in conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
