Mahogany Hills

VDLA provided master planning and thematic design services for Mahogany Hills, a 527-lot residential community in the French Valley area near Murrieta, Riverside County, California. Nestled within view of Mt. San Jacinto, the community features a connected linear park system that links residents to a centrally located neighborhood recreation park. The landscape design emphasizes drought tolerance, with an informal character in open spaces such as the linear park, detention basins, and slopes, while entries, boulevards, and park gathering areas feature more structured landscape and hardscape elements. In response to evolving drought awareness and water conservation ordinances, VDLA also developed turf-free front yard landscape designs for the community’s residences.
